Making space for creativity, wherever life takes you.
There are moments in life when you find yourself returning to something that has quietly been waiting for you all along.
For me, that has been painting - more specifically, watercolor.
As a teenager, watercolor was where my love of art first began. There was something magical about watching color flow across the paper, creating unexpected blends and soft, luminous washes. Even then, I was drawn to its ability to capture beauty with a sense of lightness and spontaneity.
Life, of course, has a way of taking us in many different directions. Over the years, my career followed several paths, each one bringing valuable experiences and shaping who I am today. Through every chapter, creativity remained a constant thread -sometimes taking center stage, other times quietly waiting in the background.
In recent years, I’ve been making more room for that creative side of myself. What started as a passion I returned to in my spare time has gradually become something I want to explore more deeply -not just as a creative outlet, but as a meaningful part of my life’s next chapter.
One of the reasons I’ve found myself drawn back to watercolor is its freedom. My time is divided between Florida and Canada, and while the idea of maintaining a fully equipped studio in both places is appealing, it simply isn’t practical. Watercolor offers something wonderfully different. A small palette, a handful of brushes, quality paper, and a cup of water are enough to create almost anywhere.
I've come to realize that creativity isn't about having the perfect studio. It's about making space for it, wherever life happens to take you.
That philosophy is shaping not only how I paint, but also what I hope to share here. In the months ahead, you'll find original watercolor paintings, fine art prints, and greeting cards inspired by everyday beauty - the flowers that catch my eye, treasured objects, meaningful moments, and the simple things that deserve to be noticed.
I'm excited to see where this journey leads. More importantly, I'm grateful to have you along for it.
Warmly,
Heather
